III
THE INNER SEA
To descend into what remembers.

Beneath everything she had seen, something remained.
Not a place.
Not an answer.
A depth.
Here, memory does not return in order. It rises in fragments: a colour, a body, a silence, something once lost that has forgotten its name but not its weight.
There are things the mind leaves behind
that something deeper continues to carry.
So she descended.
Not to understand.
Not this time.
Only to remain long enough for what had been buried to move again.
Because beneath the visible surface, nothing is truly still.
The sea remembers
what the world forgets.
